Biography
I am a retired college professor with a background in molecular genetics, cell biology and biochemistry. Since my retirement I have been active with quilting and researching quilts. I currently live in Chicago, IL. While I taught college, I lived in central Michigan. I grew up and went to school in Ohio.

I am an AQS certified quilted textile appraiser. As a quilt maker, quilt collector, and quilt restorer I have broad experience with quilt history, construction, care and repair. I lecture on quilt history, fabric history, and quilt research techniques. He have a collection of several hundred 19th and 20th century quilts for purposes of study and teaching. I have taken classes in appraising, appraisal ethics, quilt & fabric dating, quilt construction techniques, regional differences in quilts, quilt care, quilt preservation, social history and participates in continuing education classes and regularly engages in quilt related independent study.

Speaking Experience
As a professor, I enjoyed sharing my knowledge with individuals who share my joy of learning. As quilter, I continue to enjoy sharing my knowledge. I am an active independent quilt historian and collector. I have been lecturing on quilt-related topics since 2022.
